This full moon is conjunct chiron, which is the wounded healer, so it will enhance the Aries energy and bring up what needs to be healed. Full moons symbolise a cycle reaching it’s full and vibrant peak and this one is going to feel like a giant reset, amidst the onset of a ‘second wave’ of the pandemic after many months of adjusting to ‘the new normal’ whatever that means to us personally and collectively. The energy of this moon will be aggressive and impatient, but it will give us the opportunity to reflect on how far we have come since the last new moon in Aries in March this year. This moon will be more supportive of fire and air dominants and more challenging for earth and water dominants. It would be a favourable time for shadow work, but as the whole month will be cradled by a full moon at its beginning and a blue moon at its end, it is going to be super charged and intense.

Aries is a cardinal fire sign, ruled by the 1st House (new beginnings, identity, self actualisation and what makes us unique). Ruled by Mars, the planet of war, action, power and sex, it’s presence always marks the start of something dynamic and potentially turbulent. Aries is symbolised by the ram and is represented by the ‘Emperor’ card in the Tarot, which is about higher masculine qualities, leadership and self governance, and with it’s Mars rulership can be connected to the Tower card, which heralds sudden, unexpected change, disaster, crisis, the forced shedding of outworn values and ultimately; liberation. It may also be symbolised by the suit of Wands / Spring / Fire in the minor arcana.

Aries is a hot, dynamic, combative, self centred and lusty sign. It is associated with the head, the face, thus crown chakra (the spiral horns of the ram being symbolic of the channel between the divine realm and the mind), the solar plexus (the will) and the root / base chakra (survival). The head, face and temples can be erogenous zones for those with a lot of Aries energy in their charts, a head massage could be very arousing.

Additionally, Pluto in Capricorn is going direct, bringing an end to this particular cycle of collective purging of the world’s underbelly and some needed clarity and lifting of heaviness, Saturn in Capricorn is going direct, closing a period of karmic return and allowing us to release in order to move forward again, Mercury has gone into Scorpio, bringing some intense thinking and communication, potentially unearthing secrets and leading to transformation, and Venus is going into Virgo, bringing purity, service and patience to love and romance. It’s been a challenging few weeks already with Mars having gone into it’s ruling sign of Aries, and this week it might feel like it’s all coming to a head. I have noticed that people are feeling angrier and being more argumentative than usual and I have been on the receiving end a few times already. It would be easy to assume that my need for peace means I have played no part in it, we need now to accept responsibility and cool disputes by ensuring that we act from a place of love.

The Full Moon in Aries within the Moonology Oracle cards is “A fiery climax approaches.” It’s time to see if you’ve been a little too much ‘me, me, me’. There’s a tug-of-war going on between what you want and what someone else wants, but you’ll have to wait a little while to see what’s going to happen next. As you wait, ask yourself if you’ve been handling the situation as sensitively as you could have done. If you know deep down that you’ve been a little rash or harsh, gone too fast or over-stepped the mark, then accept that on some level you’ve created this situation yourself, which means you can create your way out of it too. When this card comes up, a fiery peak is coming. Emotions can run very high at this time. There’s excitement about what may lie ahead, but be aware of rash comments or decisions as tempers are likely to flare.

Attune to this moon by:

☆ Asking yourself if you’ve been too competitive or blunt.
☆ Meditate your way back to peace.
☆ Find a balance between your needs and other’s needs.
☆ Slow down and remember that life isn’t a race.
☆ Avoid disputes and be fair in your dealings. Just because it is you who is being offensive, being on the defensive can also feed dischord. These might be more likely to occur in a partnership or relationship as we are in Libra season.
☆ Lighten up and have more fun, transmuting darkness into light by transforming heaviness into humour.
☆ Look after yourself by imagining yourself bathed in the light of these moons, journaling daily this month on gratitude and forgiveness.

Magickal and healing aides for this moon include diamond, blood stone, carnelian, sardonyx, haematite, black opal, obsidian, the colours red, silver and saffron, nettle, wormwood, thistle and honeysuckle, sex magick, head massage, horns, the goddesses Athena, Durga and Brighid, the gods Mars and Ares and the archangel Ariel.

Wishing you blessings, dynamism and strength for this time of karmic release, fighting the good fight, identity crisis, masculine healing, reflection, rebirth, regrouping, resolve and survival. Amen and Namaste.
